Oakdale-Funeral service for Curtis Albert Cribbs, 78, will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale. Curtis entered eternal rest on October 29, 2016, at St. Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at 2:30 a.m. Bro. Charles Seal will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of Allen Parish Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors at Allen Parish Funeral Home on Monday, October 31, 2016, from 4-10 p.m. Visitation will resume on Tuesday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Curtis was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He began his married life working on the pipeline. He was a member of the Cypress Creek Church of Christ in Oakdale. Curtis accepted the Lord on July 14, 2009. He was born August 2, 1938, to the union of William Isom and Miley Lucille Cribbs in Dover, Florida. He served our great nation in the U.S. Army. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish Curtis’s memory is the love of his life for 59 years, Marie Rodiguez Cribbs; two sons; Lloyd Curtis Cribbs of Vermont and Curtis A. Cribbs, Jr. of Georgia; one brother, Harvey Ray Cribbs of Florida; and one sister, Opal Agnes Palmer of Florida; four grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.
Curtis is preceded in death by his parents William Isom and Miley Lucille Cribbs; four brothers, William Clyde, Carl Ray, Lewis Melvin, and Ralph Branick; and two sisters, Catherine Lucille Webb and Wanda Gail Mieshbuhler.
Pallbearers honored to serve will be D’Wayne West, Bradley Stokes, Richard Rollins, Kent Rodriguez, Chance Cribbs, and Michael Strother. Honorary Pallbearers are Daulton Welch and Daniel Welch.
