Oberlin-Funeral service for Bruce Granger, 81, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Rev. Jacob Conner will officiate. Burial will follow in Green Oak Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.
The family will receive visitors at Allen Parish Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 with the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Bruce was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Barbara, for forty three years until her passing in 2004. He loved dancing and cooking, especially barbequing. Bruce was a lifelong farmer and worked very hard to provide for his family. He loved shrimping and crabbing ay Holly Beach. Bruce also enjoyed good times at the Casino. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Bruce will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish Bruce’s memory include his four sons, Glenn Granger and wife, Melinda, of Deridder, Bruce Granger and wife, Rhonda, of Moss Bluff, Jeffery Granger of Kinder, and Christian Granger and wife, Shonna, of Elton; one daughter, Lisa Cronan and husband, Benny, of Oberlin; two sisters, Letha LeDoux and husband, C.A., of Kinder and Berna Dean Fontenot and husband, Lesbie, of Eunice; ten grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Bruce is preceded in death by his parents, Christian and Delia Granger; one son, Teddy Granger; wife, Barbara Granger; one sister, Merline LaBove; and one grandchild, Joshua Scott Granger.
