Oberlin-Funeral Service for Leonard Ray Beaubouef, 71, will be held at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church on Monday, July 20, 2015 at 10 a.m. Rev. Jacob S. Conner, V.F. will officiate. All arrangements have been entrusted to Allen Parish Funeral Home.
Leonard was born in Buckeye and lived in Oberlin with his wife of 49 years, Gerry Perkins Beaubouef. He was a Navy veteran and spent his career in electrical and instrumentation, primarily with Cleco and Boise Cascade. Leonard’s priorities in life were his God and his family. He was blessed when he married Gerry to gain a son, Tush, and go on to have two more sons, Stacey and Joe, and a “daddy’s girl”, Janelle. His life was further fulfilled when his role as “PawPaw” came along with Ryan, Josh, Taylor, Jade, Drew, Carmen, Cayden and Jackson. Leonard was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. He could fix anything and was always available in times of need.
Leonard is survived by his wife, Gerry Perkins Beaubouef, his sons, Stacey Beaubouef, Joseph Beaubouef and wife, Susana, all of Oberlin; his daughter, Janelle Frost and husband, Bill, of DeRidder; his twin sister, Linda Faye Cazes and husband, John; three brothers, Charles Beaubouef, Roland Wayne Beaubouef and wife, Diane, and Bob Beaubouef; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Leonard is preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Vertie Beaubouef, and son, Tush Strother.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Leonard’s memory be sent to St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, P.O. Box 479, Oberlin, LA 70655.
