Oakdale-Funeral service for Milton Lee Inman, 70, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2018 in the chapel of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale. Rev. Walter Knighton will officiate. Burial will follow in Willis Flats Cemetery in Plainview under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale Wednesday, June 27, 2018 from 2-9 p.m. Visitation will resume on Thursday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Milton entered eternal rest on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at his residence. He was a loving husband to Ella Mae Inman for 32 years. “He was the best man I ever knew in my life and will miss him dearly” – Ella Mae Inman. Milton served in the United States Army and was a proud veteran. He was a supervisor in the logging industry for 35 years for Louisiana-Pacific in Silsbee, Texas. He was a man of many dogs. Beau Jangles, Muffin, Yeller, Lady, Buddy, Tuffy, Rerun, Red, Tucker, and Duke were just some of the dogs he cared for so deeply. He was also an avid hunter. Deer and doves were his game of choice. He taught his wife everything he knew about hunting and they had many memories and success in the woods. Milton will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish Milton’s memory include his wife, Ella Mae Inman; three stepsons, Thomas Sykes, Terry Wayne and Robert Townley; one sister, Betty Knighton and husband, Walter; one brother, Walter Glenn Inman and wife, Janet; 5 grandchildren, Josh Townley, Tommy Lee Sykes, Tim Townley, Nathan Sykes, and Lydia Shae Townley; 2 great grandchildren, Adilene and Luca Townley; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Milton is preceded in death by his parents, Alvie and Essie Davis Inman of Newton, Texas.
